What is a scale to determine how dangerous an earthquake is?

Earthquakes are on a scale called the Richter scale. Less than 2 cannot be felt. It happens infinity times every year. 2-3 do not cause damage but can be felt. 4-5 has items shaking but do not cause big damage. 6-7 cause big damage to large areas. 8-9 cause serious and devastating damage. 10 has never been recorded. It causes serious, devastating, and super destruction.
